TYPES OF ISSUES
==============
1.Software issue: Software issue my be occurred due to various reasons like it may occur due to corruption of any of the OS file or some third party softwares plug-in or incompatible softwares etc etc.
2. Hardware issue : Hardware issue may occur due to failure of single component or multiple components in the computer.

Troubleshooting
===============
For any Mac Computer if  we face any issues of which we are not  sure about whats happening we have to follow this chart to isolate the issue first then proceed with resolution

Step 1. First we have to isolate whether its a  software issue or a hardware issue.
if computer is not starting up or if it is a complete blank or black screen then its pretty sure that it a
hardware issue in that case we have to run a hardware test, this can be done by booting into the installation disc 1 that came with the computer i:e follow this link http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509.also try SMC :i:e unplug all the cables and replug it back and make sure no third party devices like printer, scanner or other peripheerals are connectec to computer except keyboard and mouse, SMC is varies for each and every model of computer for that first you have to go to the tech specs of your computer http://support.apple.com/specs/ then there in power Option you have to follow the instruction to do SMC or you can find it on http://support.apple.com/.

Step 2: If  computer is struck on a grey screen with apple logo, or blue screen or on a strat up screen then its a pretty sure that it may be caused due to software issue, in very rare cases the grey screen may also indicates a hardware issue. If the cause is due to software issue then what we have to do
--->PRAM reset (hold down the keys Option+Command+R+P and then turn on the computer, do not let go the keys until we hear 2 start up chymes.)
---->Try to boot into the safemode( hold down shift key and restart the computer and do not let go the shift key until we see a blue screen., if we are able to boot into the computer then Trash the folder Startupitems and caches folder from the computer. Path is Mac HD/library/startupitems, Mac HD/library/Caches & Mac HD/users/homefolder/library/caches, make sure that you trash only the folder Startupitems and Caches only in most of the cases this will fix the issues.
----->If we are not able to boot into the safe mode then Boot into the installation disc 1 that came with your computer, first screen will be lang screen then click on continue till we see a screen which says select a destination, then on the top of the screen you will find Utilities tab click on that and select Disk utility, highlight the HD which indicates the size of HD and then towards the right hand side select the option which says repair disk after that restart the computer.
